Deputy Manager/SENCO

To plan and deliver effective daily management of the nursery alongside the manager, in accordance with Company policy, all relevant legislation, plus local authority and OFSTED requirements. To ensure the provision is of the highest quality; providing a safe, stimulating and caring child-centered environment catering for the children’s educational and developmental needs.

  • To ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times.
  • To liaise closely with parents/carers to ensure high levels of involvement and customer satisfaction at all times.
  • To manage the provision of the nursery ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
  • To manage a staff team effectively.
  • To agree and set nursery goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
  • To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
  • Support to Develop the curriculum and operating policies/procedures for the nursery Develops and implements the operational framework and standards to ensure the smooth running of the nursery

We are looking for an applicant with:

  • Experience in Early Years.
  • Experience in SEN and SEN paperwork.
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections as a leader.
  • Experience of supporting and encouraging change to a positive outcome.
  • Experience in advising colleagues on Inclusion.
  • Ability to operate at a range of levels and be able to impart information that can support change.
  • Ability to feedback positive suggestions to line manager on service improvement and design.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A proactive and positive approach.

Your opportunity

The purpose of your role will be:

  • To ensure that Nursery practice is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • To work with the Nursery Leadership team ensuring an ethos of Inclusion within the Nursery and a culture of high aspirations for students with SEND
  • To work with the Nursery Leadership team ensuring the implementation of the Nursery SEND Policy
  • To ensure that the provision of SEND support is in accordance with the aims of the Nursery and the curricular policies.
  • To be responsible for maintaining the Nurseries SEND Profile
  • To be responsible for the accurate identification of SEND need across the Nursery, ensuring a rigorous and thorough assessment process.
  • To be responsible for the Nursery SEND Offer, ensuring high quality targeted interventions enabling students with SEND to make better progress.
  • In consultation with the Nursery Leadership Team, to provide a programme of professional development with regard to SEND.
  • To be responsible for tracking the progress of students with SEND
  • To deploy staff and resources according to the needs of SEND students

Salary: £24000 per annum

Working Hours: 40 hours per week part term time (Open 47 weeks of the year) between 8am and 5.30pm.
