Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and compassionate Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our client’s team. The Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker will provide a safe, secure, and supportive living environment for children and young people residing in our client’s residential home. The Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker will be responsible for the daily supervision and care of the children and young people, as well as the provision of emotional, physical, and practical support.
The Role
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with the children and young people in our residential homes
- Provide a safe, secure, and supportive home environment
- Monitor the wellbeing of the children and young people and respond to any issues or concerns
- Ensure the children and young people adhere to the house rules
- Act as a role model and provide guidance to the children and young people
- Assist with the development of the children and young people’s independent living skills
- Assist with daily routines, such as meal times, bed times, and personal hygiene
- Facilitate activities and outings to promote the social and emotional development of the children and young people
- Work closely with other professionals, such as social workers, teachers, and medical staff
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the children and young people’s progress
- Remain up-to-date with best practices, regulations, and policies
The Person
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of child development and behaviour management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (essential)
- Experience in a children’s home setting (essential)
- Supervisory experience (essential)
- Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (Rota plan given in advance)
- Full, UK driving licence (essential)
