Overview

Our school is based near Oxford and rated Ofsted Outstanding.  They teach children from Early Years up to KS2 and are now looking for a Classroom TA to join their busy team.

The Role

The main purpose of Teaching Assistants is supporting children to learn under the guidance of qualified teachers and the Senior Leadership of the school

Teaching and learning

  • Assist in the educational and social development of all pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head teacher, SENCO and class teachers
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for students and help monitor their progress
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills

Administrative duties

  • Prepare and present displays of students’ work if requested
  • Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks in order to support teaching
  • Undertake other duties from time to time as the head teacher requires

Standards and quality assurance

  •  Support the aims and ethos of the school
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
  • Attend team and staff meetings when required
  • Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Head teacher
  • Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety

Other duties and responsibilities

  • There may be times when TA’s are asked to answer telephones in the absence of admin staff or to assist in providing hospitality to school visitors and guests
  • TA’s may also be asked to assist in class and school productions and performances
  • TA’s may at times be offered the opportunity to join working parties created to take on whole
    school projects
