Overview

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and ambitious EYFS or KS1 NQTs to join a fantastic Infants school based in Croydon.  As an NQT you will be responsible for creating a learning environment where pupils feel secure and confident; where diversity is valued; where there are opportunities to maximise teaching and learning

The Role

  • To teach clearly structured lessons/sequences of work which interest and motivate children
  • Take into account pupils’ learning needs/abilities taken in to account
  • Clearly share learning objectives with pupils
  • Use interactive whole class or collaborative group work strategies
  • Promote active and independent learning is promoted that enables pupils to think for themselves and to plan and manage their own learning
  • To establish a clear framework for classroom discipline and follow the school’s procedures for managing behaviour which recognises, encourages and rewards good behaviour.
  • To set challenging learning and teaching objectives for whole class, groups or individuals, relevant to and based on knowledge of learners. These should take account of:
    o Learning needs and abilities
    o Past and present attainment
    o Expected standards for relevant age phase
    o Range or content of work relevant to the age phase
  • To mark and assess pupils’ work, using a range of monitoring and assessment strategies, evaluating pupil progress toward the planned learning objectives
  •  To use this information to inform future planning and teaching
  • To give immediate, constructive feedback which supports pupil learning, to enable pupil reflection and self evaluation leading to improved learning
  • To encourage pupils to maintain a growth mindset and resilience in their learning.
  • To maintain an attractive, stimulating and well-organised classroom
  • To build and maintain good working relationships with parents or carers
  • To provide oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to the development and learning of individual pupils or groups of pupils as required
  • To reflect and evaluate on own teaching and modify or amend as appropriate
  • To keep up-to-date with current educational thinking/best practice by attending relevant In-Service Training
  • To take part in regular performance management
  • To take part fully in the corporate life of the school
